March 14th, 2010
Natives of DS

As announced, the Natives and friends joined in the Rain ceremony Saturday, March 13 around 4:15pm VZT to try to bring rain to the Jungle! Lets hope it really helps!

(The shaman showed up at Morpheus Idol carrying the sacred rain-stone followed by all the other natives and friends. The shaman placed the sacred rain-stone on the ground by the idol. The priestess placed 4 frogs and 1 turtle around the the sacred rain-stone. All natives took out their shells.)

Shaman:

We place the sacred rain-stone here to ask morpheus for rain in the jungle and to call on the god of the sky to bring rain.

A story from long ago tells of a hummingbird that is actually the god of the sky in disguise, and he is trying to court a beautiful woman, who is the moon. He started crying because he was not successful with the beautiful lady moon which brought rain to the earth.

Priestess:
It is said that when a frog croaks it is calling for rain. So four frogs are used in the ancient rain ceremony, each one summoning the god of the sky from a different direction of the sky. It is also said that if a turtle appears in your path during a drought it is a sign of impending rain because the turtle is also seeking water. It is believed that the shell of the turtle is a map of the universe.

Shaman:

We give these flowers as gifts to the god of the sky.

Let the white floating clouds - the clouds like the plains - the lightning, thunder, rainbow, and cloud peoples, water the Earth. Let the people of the white floating clouds, the people of the clouds like the plains - the lightning, thunder, rainbow, and cloud peoples -come and work for us, and water the Earth.

Shaman:

We give thanks to all the Waters of the world for quenching our thirst and providing us with strength. Water is life. We know its power in many forms - waterfalls and rain, mists and streams, rivers and oceans. With one mind, we send greetings and ask the spirit of water to send rain.

Now our minds are one.

Good luck! Hope it brings rain to the Jungle and the Natives would like to thank all the friends that helped and attended the ceremony
