Daisy's Hope Chest
|
|
I wonder what I am missing.
In earlier centuries, every bride was expected to have a hope chest or dower chest. Girls living before 1900 were expected to start weaving and sewing sheets, towels, tablecloths,
lace, quilts and other textiles to be used when they married. They were helped by their mothers, sisters and other female relatives. These traditions continue today in many families.
Daisy has been saving many things for many years in her Hope Chest. These things will be used whenever Daisy gets married (hopefully one day to Duke). Even though each hope chest carries the hopes and dreams and items according to the personality and life of its owner, there may be some things that we all have dreamed about keeping in our chests.
Daisy is hoping that you, the Ladies Of Kymer, will help Daisy by telling her the things you have kept in your hope chest!
Please write to Daisy here at the Virtual Planet and tell her what things you keep in your Hope Chests! Queezers N Quisses! Quack! |
