Daisy & Duke Who?

Daisy and Duke enjoy sport yet our latest exploits almost led to our demise. We built our own sailboat and entered the "Round the Islands" Race 2005. The race was estimated to take three weeks and was open to all couples.
After two weeks at sea we were miles in front of the nearest competitor and almost nothing could wipe the beaming smiles off our faces. During the night a squall started up, nothing serious at first but as the seas got rougher it got harder and harder to control the boat, as I tried to turn into the wind the rudder snapped off leaving us at the mercy of growing waves.
For two weeks we were tossed around like a balloon in an air tunnel but by dawn of the third week the sea had quietened and we drifted aimlessly not knowing how long it would be before we sighted any land. At midday the squawking of seagulls disturbed us and much to our relief we sighted land. Not being able to guide the boat we dived over board and swam to the land eventually coming ashore on a deserted beach and collapsing in total exhaustion. We both slept undisturbed and when we awoke it was dark and we were a little scared.
Out of the gloom appeared a ghostly apparition; we hugged each other tightly as it got closer, she spoke to us in our own language and introduced herself as Oracle Ny. She explained all about the island and said she would teach us Kymerese!
We found the island to be inhabited with very friendly people and we easily blended in, after chatting to many of the citizens we hugged each other and decided this was a fantastic place to stay. We later learned that the storm at sea had not been a storm but a disturbance caused by a place the people called Atlantis that annually arose from the depths. We decided that this wonderful place that was called Kymer was going to be our new home.
We would like to meet as many of you as possible so please pop along to our new home at Isle Caribe on Friday 21st October at 2pm WAT.
Also as a big thank you to everyone we shall be holding a dance contest on Sunday 23rd October at 10 am WAT at the Caribe Dance Floor, so dig out those jazzy dancing shoes and let’s get down and boogy!
More details to follow quack soon, or is that quite soon. Quack! |
